a little about me…
Born to German parents and raised in the southwest of England, I consider both German and English to be my mother tongues — and both cultures part of who I am. I grew up in a Camphill Village, a unique community designed to foster inclusion and meaningful relationships between people with and without intellectual disabilities. It was a place shaped by values of dignity, shared responsibility, and personal growth — a truly formative environment that opened my heart and mind to the richness of human difference.
This early experience of togetherness, of being seen and valued for who we are, sparked a lifelong curiosity about what it means to be human. That curiosity led me to study philosophy and psychology, and eventually earn a Master of Arts in London — a time that deepened my thinking and strengthened my belief in reflection, dialogue, and the inner capacity for change.
Since 2014, I have been living in Düsseldorf with my husband and our two children — a home where life is colourful, honest, and always evolving.

Here in Düsseldorf, I deepened my professional path through further training in Psychosynthesis, Carl Rogers’ person-centred counselling, and Family/Systemic Constellation work. All three approaches share a holistic view of the person and are grounded in relationship, empathy, and inner growth.
I believe that we come to know ourselves in relationship with others — that self-experience through the other can offer deep self-understanding. This understanding of human connection, shaped by both philosophical reflection and therapeutic practice, forms the foundation of my work. It guides everything I do — whether I’m holding space for individuals or couples in counselling, or crafting a deeply personal wedding ceremony.

My husband and I discovered the beauty of a personalised wedding ceremony when planning our own. As we weren’t part of a religious community, a church wedding didn’t feel right for us — but a registry office ceremony alone felt too impersonal and not festive enough. That’s when we found the concept of a freie Trauung — a free, individually crafted ceremony. Together with our celebrant, we created something truly meaningful, joyful, and deeply personal.
A little while later, a friend asked me if I would lead her ceremony. Then more of her guests began asking me the same — and I quickly realised how much I loved this work. That was the beginning of my journey as a wedding celebrant. Today, I create and lead ceremonies with care, presence, and joy — in English, German, or both.
